I have been away from my blog for a whole two months! How time flies by.
I have been doing quite a bit of crafting in that time, some was commissioned, some I did with my boys or for them and Luciebelle.
I am currently working on a project that I find particularly exciting: a 'nana' blanket. I love crochet, it's fun, easy, and rewarding. Having said that, I thought it would take no time to crochet the blanket, but it turns out that it is not going as fast as I initially expected. So I have asked Wendy (the children's grandma from NZ) to give me a hand with it. She taught me the pattern, and she loves colours and how you can come up with some very interesting colour combinations. I was initially going to make it very plain, with just a few well chosen colours, but it is much more fun to use any colour I find. I go to op shops and get pretty much any colour they have and then the fun can begin.
And here is a photo of the latest thing I did for Lulu. A big woolen ladybird. I don't know if she'll like it, but it was fun to make. It only took me a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks Stace. I tell you what, if you are going to make a blanket with those peggy squares, get as much wool in opshops as you can find, 'cos it's amazing the amount you will need. I'm at the stage now where I'm unpicking woolen jumpers because I can't find enough wool.

What cool squares, I can not sew or crochet for nuts, I am reasonably good at needle felting though. cheers Marie
